Outdoor Living Pergola
Heavy-timber pergola with a tensioned canopy, integrated string lights, and built-in lounge seating that anchors the entire backyard.
The clients had a generous backyard with no shade and no center. We designed a heavy-timber pergola sized to the patio, with a custom-stitched marine canopy that tensions across cable rails for clean lines.
Built-in benches were sized to fit standard outdoor cushions and detailed to drain. The coffee table is a single slab on a heavy timber base. String lights are integrated into the rafters so there are no exposed cords.
The hot tub stays covered when not in use. The pergola is detailed to take a future drop-down screen on one side without re-engineering.
